Great to be home!

Hi! Thanks for being patient with me, I know from the calls, emails, and the waiting list that there are a few of you out there hoping I’ll be starting back soon and I have good news – I spoke to someone at the registration board yesterday and my return to work is imminent! I will be going back to Bondi Junction to my old clinic, I have that funky picture of the castle already hung, and a fresh batch of pool noodles to hand out for rolling on.

Just to explain – I had to re-apply to work as a doctor in Australia because I was away for over 12 months. Every 12 months we are required to do things like a certain amount of continuing professional development, maintain first aid, work sufficient hours in practice etc. I had done all of these things of course, but they just needed to go through the paperwork to be sure and check that I wasn’t arrested as well. Anyway, you should all be happy to know that the requirements we face to be registered is extremely stringent, and that I am as clean as a Sydney Swans footballer (at time of print none of them had been convicted of anything…)

It feels really good to be back in Sydney, the weather has been good, I’ve been catching up with family and friends, swimming in the ocean (something you don’t really do in Singapore despite it being an island) and getting stuck into the great food here. Singapore doesn’t have any farms so everything is imported – you have no idea how fresh  the produce is here in comparison. I’ve been doing plenty of cooking and I’ll post a recipe soon no doubt.

Hope you’re all doing well and for those of you who are visiting soon I look forward to catching up!

Chris
