[13 Mar 2019 | Comments Off on Can daytime naps lower your blood pressure? | ]

Yes they can. And according to the latest research, they do it as effectively as medications.
This is great news for people like me who love a sneaky disco nap. And it’s great news for any of you taking blood pressure medication. After all, who wouldn’t love to be taking less medications!
In a 2019 article on the website MedicalNewsToday, 212 people were studied. These were not the healthiest people – average age of 62, plenty of smokers and people with type 2 diabetes. Yet even with these complicating factors, the study found …

Christmas Hours

Seasons Greetings one and all! How good is the Pacman Christmas Tree! I certainly get the impression from talking to many of you that it has been a full on year, so I hope you get to enjoy a well deserved break and take some time to recover and prepare for 2016.
Just to let you know I will be working all the way up to and including Christmas Eve, then back on Monday the 4th of January.
Hope you have a great Christmas and a happy and HEALTHY New Year!

Getting in shape for Summer

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of people with injuries related to the sudden desire to quickly get in shape. Their exercise regime drifted a little over the winter months but with Summer approaching they need to get their bikini body back. Bravo I say! But, we need to temper that enthusiasm/desperation with a little common sense. If you’re trying to fit 6 months worth of training into the next 6 weeks read on.
I think the most common times people get injured is when they start a new activity, or …

India Trip Review

What an amazing country! I just got back from 2 1/2 weeks in India and I had an absolute ball. I was introduced by The Baby Whisperer Jo Ryan (http://babybliss.com.au/) to a friend of hers who lives in Mumbai and is a food and travel writer. Well, you can imagine my delight. What a wonderful person to meet – the person who knows where to eat and what to do. If you are ever going to India check out her site http://rakheeghelani.com/, she is a wealth of knowledge. And in all …

Still an Osteopath (Part 3)

My ongoing quest to become a professional sports star took me to the Dunc Gray Velodrome on Saturday. A few old mates of mine hired the Olympic Velodrome (wasn’t even that expensive) and we did a 1 hour session learning to ride around a cycling track. I could not believe how steep that banked curve is – 42degrees!
I was looking good to become a pro when the coach motioned to me to slow down. I assumed it was because he was worried that my bike was going to disintegrate due …

Jingle Bells, Batman Smells

Seasons Greetings! Many of you will no doubt still be under the pump at work, clocking long hours all the way up until Christmas. Hopefully you then get some time off with family and friends to recharge the batteries. I certainly get the impression when talking to patients that 2013 has been a long, hard year, so it’s important to use your break wisely. You don’t want to be starting 2014 still feeling the hangover of this year. Aim to look after yourself, enjoy yourself, and get the right mix …

There for a good time, not a long time…

Pictured is Joycey, my grandmother, who came to visit me in Singapore. She could only stay 36 hours as she was on her way to Budapest to get on a cruise that went through Austria, Germany, The Netherlands etc. As you do. She is enjoying a Singapore Sling (the first of many that day I’d like to point out) at the famous Raffles Long Bar.
Working as an Osteopath in Singapore was very different to working in Sydney. In Sydney the average person at least knows what an Osteopath is for …

Farewell My Friends

So, I’ve got some good news, I met a girl. Intelligent, beautiful, funny, cool, amazing (first to admit I’m batting well above my average). Rocks my world. Brightens each and every day. Thing is, she lives in Singapore. And so, what’s a guy to do, right?
I’ve resigned from my Bondi Junction Clinic and will be moving to Singapore to start anew. My last day in clinic will be Wednesday May 25th.
I am passing on all of your files to a brilliant young Osteopath, Omar Mograby, who has been working in …

[27 Jan 2010 | Comments Off on Chocolate Ice Cream | ]

Hi,
I eat more chocolate ice-cream than just about anyone I know. Recently I discovered two new varieties:
Maggie Beer Dark Chocolate & Orange Ice Cream
Sara Lee Rocky Road Overload (luscious chocolate ice cream overloaded with marshmallows, chocolate coated peanuts and delicious raspberry swirls)
I wholeheartedly recommend both.

[27 Jul 2009 | Comments Off on Souffle = Romance baby! | ]

I’d like to share an email a client sent me recently:
“Hi Chris, How are you? I am well. Thanks again for the stretches, my shoulder is starting to feel really good. I wanted to ask you a question that isn’t really related to Osteopathy though, even though I do find Osteopathy to be a fascinating topic. I know you like cooking, and are pretty smooth with the ladies, and I was hoping you might be able to send me the link to a recipe for a nice dessert I might …
